January to March 2024 Walking Group Dates

The Australian Heart Foundation Walking Group will be meeting at various locations from January to March 2024.

Please note the variation in starting times on some dates.

Please bring water bottles, hats or umbrellas and walking poles, if required.

January:

• 16 January - Meet at Leschenault Leisure Centre for Kingston walk. BYO mug.
• 23 January - Meet at Ridley Place, near toilet block, for a walk along the estuary to the caravan park and back. Coffee at Benesse Cafe to follow.
• 26 January - Australia Day Celebration Breakfast - Ridley Place Lions BBQ Breakfast. If interested, please meet up with our group wearing ‘the green and gold’ from 7am at venue. There is a cost for food.
• 30 January - Meet in the carpark opposite the entrance to Tronox along Old Coast Road for a walk to the centre of the estuary and back. BYO after walk drink. Toilets available.

February:

• 6 February - Meet in carpark at end of San Marco Promenade/Lerici Circle at Pelican Point for a walk around this area. BYO after walk drink. Toilets available.
• 13 February - Pancake Day. Leisure Centre walk - Kingston area. Please let Sheryl know if you would like some pancakes and jam/cream/maple syrup topping by Tuesday, 6 February. Cost $2 per person. BYO mug.
• 20 February - Meet in the carpark at Buffalo beach for a bracing walk along the beach. Opportunity to fish or enjoy a swim instead, if preferred. BYO after walk drink. Toilets available.
• 27 February - Meet at Treendale behind Best n Less for a walk around the area. Coffee at Muffin Break to follow.

March:

• 5 March - Meet outside the Dolphin Centre for a walk around the Leschenault Inlet. Coffee at the Dolphin Centre or similar in the area to follow.
• 12 March - Meet at Knapps Landing along Cathedral Avenue. BYO after walk drink. Nearest toilets - Fee’s Field
• 14 March - 5pm Special Sundowner Walk. Meet in the corner of the carpark behind Wellington Hotel, near the wall murals for a walk around the beach paths. Supper at the Wellington to follow.
• 19 March - St. Patrick’s Day walk. Meet at Pratt Road carpark near the playground for a walk along the Collie River to the Scout Hall and back. BYO after walk drink. Toilets available.
• 26 March - Meet along Old Coast Road near the coffee van parking area. Park at the playground end for a walk to Australind caravan park and back. BYO chairs. Toilets available. Coffee can be purchased from the coffee van or BYO drinks.
